Fake Operator is a free Cydia tweak from BigBoss repository that lets you change the carrier name to any name that you want.
This will not add news icons to your home screen, you just configure options from Settings app.
Now that you have Fake Operator installed go to your "Settings" application and click on Fake Operator
Once you've opened Fake Operator settings just switch the toggle to"On" and set whatever name you would like to be displayed in place of your carrier.
That's it, you should now have a custom carrier name!
